Championship Winning Humboldt Rugby

After Cal Poly Humboldt disposed of their football team due to a lack of funding and interest, it seems like their rugby team has managed to step up and replace them.

The Humboldt Cal Poly rugby team is a small team for a small college.

Despite this, they recently won the 2022 small schools national championship on the 50th anniversary of their founding. Many rugby player who has ever played for HSU and Humboldt Cal Poly, for the past 50 years, played a celebratory game this September 30th. The team’s win in the championship has brought joy to all who helped the rugby team excel.

The Humboldt Cal Poly team of 2022-2023 and their coaches, Greg Pargee, Patrick Bellefeuille, Vince Celetto, and Mark Johnson, have shown themselves as possibly the best sports team Humboldt has. The tournament was against all the other small schools in the United States. The teamproved themselves to be the best in the end.

After Cal Poly Humboldt disposed of their football team due to a lack of funding and interest, it seems like their rugby team has managed to step up and replace them.

The landmark event was amazing because everyone who has ever played for the Humboldt rugby team showed their support for the 2022-2023 team and their victory. The event was held in Humboldt Cal Poly’s Redwood Bowl and was free for everyone to enter and watch the three games that occurred. The volunteers at the snack shack made sure everyone was well fed.
