The mixing of colors, running around the back yard looking all over for the egg from years before that was never found. Some eggs are a delicious treat, and some are plastic with money to buy delicious treats. Easter is a holiday where families get together to have fun, color eggs, and eat an inhumane amount of candy. Easter chocolates and marshmallows are the staples of what Easter is all about. Today, I’m going to be going over the top 3 candies of Easter.
Peeps – One of the main treats that pop into your head when you think “easter candy”. They are soft and gooey inside, with a puffy texture almost like a cloud. They are baby bird-shaped marshmallows ( which is why they are called “peeps” ), typically covered with sugar and chocolate eyes. “The texture is so amazing, and the beautiful colors, and I love the little ducks,” said Senior Zalayshia Velasquez, expressing her love for these amazing treats. ”Every time Easter comes around, I’m just so excited.” Peeps are one of the things that really keep Easter going for a lot of people, especially those with a sweet tooth.

Cadbury chocolate eggs – There’s nothing remotely bad you could ever possibly say about them. They are the closest thing to heaven that I have personally ever tasted. They are my favorite Easter candy, and candy of all time, really. They have a hard candy outer shell, with an inside of creamy milk chocolate. Maybe move attribution here with transition: Charlotte Masaki agreed, “They’re not even my favorite Easter candy. [They are] my favorite candy in the whole entire wild world, and they’re seasonal, and it’s so bad,”

Reese’s chocolate egg – Reese’s eggs and Reese’s peanut butter cups may seem like almost the same thing, but they’re barely close in comparison. The traditional peanut butter cups have much thicker layers of chocolate, and the peanut butter seems to dry out your mouth more evenly. The eggs however have way better taste. The layer of chocolate they have is also thinner, leading to a better combination of the two elements of peanut butter and chocolate. Instead of there being too much of one and not enough of another, they have the same amount.

Every year, people all around the US spend around 3 billion dollars solely on easter candy. Individually, people spend around 26 dollars each. Over 50% of the easter sales are completely on chocolate, and 92% of people who buy these candies are celebrating. The number 1 selling candy during the easter season however, are the Reese’s peanut butter eggs. Followed by peeps, cadbury eggs, and chocolate bunnies. Overall, Easter is a holiday that you don’t always remember, but it’s always there. It’s in the grocery store out of the corner of your eye, the eggs you have in the fridge, and most importantly, the memories of your childhood.
