Many consider high school to be among the best years of their lives and want something to remember them by. Attaching a specific song, artist, or album to certain events in your life can help you remember them by bringing back emotions or vivid moments, so pairing a song with graduation can be incredibly meaningful, helping you capture those memories every time you hear it.
“Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” – Green Day
This song has incredible nostalgia in its lyrics, and while it is a breakup song, it also captures the feelings associated with graduation and with breaking ties with an era of your life rather than with one specific person.

“See You Again” – Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
The classic Furious 7 hit. Associate this one with a close friend or group that you can’t wait to see again.

“The Spins” – Mac Miller
Switching up the mood a little bit, the most common and universally favorite grad song contains an uptempo beat, great vibes, and everyone can sing along!

“Congratulations” – Post Malone ft. Quavo
Congratulations on graduating! Use this to hype yourself up before or after graduation.

“Your Graduation” – Modern Baseball
Another breakup song that encapsulates feelings of moving on with your life. In the case of graduation, it can be associated with those who had difficult times during school.

In the spirit of the article, I, along with some friends, created a graduation playlist on Spotify that not only includes the 5 songs I just mentioned, but over 7 hours total of music (that’s over 5 hours longer than the yearbook). Give it a listen and congrats to the class of 2026!
