Every morning students spill out of cars that all blend together, SUV’s, daily traffic sedans, and hand-me-downs from their parents. But in the far corner of the lot, there is something different. It is a Honda Civic. As most know, Honda Civics are widely appreciated by daily work commuters, but also the top car enthusiasts in the world.
They’re super cars. Not loud. Not expensive, but a car with soul that makes you have to participate to drive with its 6-speed manual transmission and high revving 4 cylinder.
Blake Corse is the owner of this 2007 Civic Si. These cars come stock with a k20z3, a naturally aspirated 2 litre that revs up to 8,200rpms! That is only 800 less than a Porsche GT3RS. Blake decided to tastefully modify it by adding a short RAM intake, silver wheels and lowering springs to make it look and sound fantastic while cornering like a boss.
“It is really tight around corners,” Corse said, “ handles really good for a front wheel drive car… having the manual in it adds extra control.”
Nowadays, nobody understands. Everything is automatic, phones, our schedules, our cars, but with a manual transmission you are now really driving the car, no longer just riding in it.
Like I said, these cars are not expensive. Blake purchased this car for only $1,000 dollars with 180k miles on the dash. If you know anything about Civics, that is just broken in, it is not out of the ordinary for these cars to reach 300k. If you want something that will be just as fun as anything else on the street, while never having to worry about it blowing up, the Honda Civic is for you.
