The first semester of a new school year has just passed us. With our grades shortly coming to a reset, the freshmen have just completed their first semester of high school ever. While the seniors are anxious about their own futures, or whether they have been accepted into their dream schools.
The seniors take a glimpse into their own future with college apps, entrepreneurship, or even trade school. The seniors finished with their college applications, and stress followed very shortly with their recurring finals.
Current freshman Julian Bierwirth Nussbaum feels that his semester was “pretty fun… but it’s been chill.” Bierwirth worries about getting his permit and how his senior friends are going to be graduating. Bierwirth said, “graduation is going to be so depressing… the whole volleyball team’s kind of…” all going to be graduating next year.
Senior Aliyah Aaron took her college apps pretty seriously. She said, “I knew from my freshman year that I wanted to make my application very competitive.” Aaron applied to CSUs like San Diego State, Long Beach, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and Sacramento State.
Aaron “wanted to be near the beach,” and wants to go “to a place that’s so warmer,” “out of this cold weather.” The freshman who has completed their first semester, Aaron said, “Oh, my god, congratulations, freshman! Congratulations, fruzz.” Another senior, Aleta Stubblefield, finds that when she was a freshman, she was “unsure of her future and high school… obviously now I know how it went.”
Stubblefield said she completed her college applications and applied to “Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Cruz, and Cal Poly SLO”. She finds that those schools have “great programs, especially in biological science and like marine biology”. She’s done a good amount of extracurriculars and is on track with her grades.
Aaron and Stubblefield are two of many seniors who are creating many opportunities in their own lives with college apps, entrepreneurship, or even trade school. Many seniors are already experiencing senioritis, while all of the freshmen are just getting started in their high school careers. All of the freshmen are slowly getting their permits, and the senior class is slowly getting closer and closer to becoming the graduates of 2026.
