The Women’s March Madness tournament brackets will be revealed on March 15th. The most highlighted teams in the tournament this year are the UConn Huskies, UCLA Bruins, South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Texas Longhorns.
The Huskies are a big favorite for the tournament because they are the defending champions from last year, where they beat South Carolina in the national championship 82-59. They are now on pace to win the championship once again because at this point in time, they have not lost a single game, which is screaming championship in many people’s eyes.
The second favorite to win this year is the UCLA Bruins because they are a part of the prestigious BIG 10, where they are undefeated in the conference and have only lost one game so far this season to the undefeated tournament favorites, the UConn Huskies.
The third favorite of the tournament is the South Carolina Gamecocks. They are on top of the SEC right now. They have only lost two games in the season, which were to the UConn Huskies and a close one to the Texas Longhorns. Texas is in the same conference, and it is not a good look to lose conference games. Thankfully for them, that is the only conference game they have lost so far this year.
The last favorite for the tournament is the Texas Longhorns, who are not in a great spot because they are third in their own conference behind the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Vanderbilt Commodores. They are favored over Vanderbilt in the tournament because they have bested the Commodores more than Vanderbilt has beaten them. Texas has lost three games this year to conference opponents in all 3 losses, which 2 of them being to South Carolina, and the other one was to Vanderbilt.
Some top players to watch in this are UConn guard Sarah Strong, TCU position? Olivia Miles and LSU Guard Mikayla Williams.
But people are saying that Olivia Miles is the standout player to watch because she is a contender for player of the year in Women’s college basketball. She is the best statistical player in the tournament. (20ppg, 7rpg, 6apg).
That about sums up the March Madness tournament on the women’s side, stating the top teams and players people should expect to stand out in the tournament.
