Upsets over high-seeded teams, buzzer-beaters, and new stars emerging are only a few of the deeply exciting things about NCAA March Madness. The 2025 Big Dance is ramping up to be one of the most exciting tournaments in recent history. With fans seeing the University of Connecticut taking it all the past two years under head coach Dan Hurley. Viewers are eager to see a different team take home the trophy.
My prediction to win: St. Johns (2 seed, 30-4 overall): The Red Storm simply looks elite under legendary head coach Rick Pitino in his second year with the program.
Upset prediction: UC San Diego (12 seed, 30-4 overall) over Michigan (5 seed, 25-9 overall)
#1 seed most likely to get eliminated early: Auburn (28-5): Auburn has lost 3 of their last 4 games after a dominant regular season. These losses were against ranked teams, but during March Madness, every team was playing like a ranked team.
A big story in this year’s tournament is the Southeastern Conference (SEC) has the most bids of any conference ever at 14. Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Oklahoma all made the bracket.
This year should be nothing less than fantastic, nonstop basketball until early April.
