This year, Arcata High inducted a new member into the Hall of Fame. Honoring a former student and current faculty member whose legacy both on and off the field has left a lasting mark on our school. Jim Hogan, the janitor at AHS, was celebrated for his remarkable achievements in athletics and leadership during the school’s annual Homecoming rally.
“It was a very humbling experience,” Hogan said during his interview, “it put a stamp on what I did when I was here.”
Hogan is no slouch when it comes to success in the school’s athletic history. As a standout athlete, he was known for his exceptional performance in football, basketball, and baseball. Hogan especially excelled in baseball, with his skills and leadership on the field being a key factor in the team’s success. Beyond sports, Hogan has remained deeply involved in our school. He now holds the title of Facilities Manager. You can find Hogan keeping our school running by retrieving keys from locked cars in the parking lot, fixing classroom appliances, or prepping for some sort of school event.
Hogan’s name will be proudly added to the Hall of Fame display, alongside other notable alumni who have made significant contributions to the school and the community. Hogan’s induction was a moment to celebrate the best athletes that Arcata High School has to offer and a reminder to thank Hogan for everything he does for this campus.
