Decorating for Christmas is a time that many look forward to every year, but when do people start to decorate for Christmas? Some people start decorating right after Halloween, some after Thanksgiving, and others even later than that.
Christmas is a holiday that everyone who celebrates looks forward to decorating for, but there are different times when everyone decorates. We found the most common times that most people decorate for this holiday, and when they think that it is too late or too early to decorate.
Senior Vladislav Volkov starts decorating for Christmas right after Halloween, every year his family always ends up with a tree that is way too big for their house. They pack their tree with ornaments that they have had for a long time.
Senior Bella Campbell starts decorating for Christmas around the first or second week of November, she says that there should be no Christmas decorating before Halloween but right after Halloween you have all the freedom to start decorating for Christmas.
Senior Quincy Collins starts her Christmas decorating in the middle of November and officially cuts down her tree on the first weekend of December. They have a tradition of hosting a wreath-making party for their close family and friends. Senior Dany Waters has a family tradition of going to cut down a Christmas tree the weekend right after Thanksgiving. Once their Christmas tree is cut down, they slowly bring more decorations out until their house is fully decked out for Christmas. She says that it is way too early to decorate in October because her birthday is in October so it would conflict.
Senior Tavis Kjer is big on Christmas Decorating,
“Christmas spirit starts on November 1st but Christmas decorating starts the day after Thanksgiving,” Kjer says if you picture Santa’s workshop that’s basically what his house looks like at Christmas time.
Tavis has ten different themed Christmas trees spread throughout his house, as well as lots of fun Christmas decorations making it look like Santa’s workshop.
Sophomore Josie Cunningham starts decorating for Christmas on the first day of December as a tradition with her family. Cunningham thinks you have to decorate for Thanksgiving before you put up Christmas decorations to get in the spirit. She says you get a one-week minimum in December to decorate after that you have no excuses.
