Every year, decorating for Christmas is a time that many look forward to, but when do people actually start to decorate for Christmas? Some people may start decorating right after Halloween, right after Thanksgiving, or even later than that. We asked six students “When do you decorate for Christmas?” and “When do you think it is too early or too late to decorate for this holiday?”
Bella Campbell Interview:
“I start decorating around the first or second week of November, and I think that it is too early to decorate before Halloween but right when Halloween is over you have all the freedom to start decorating for Christmas, then I think it is too late to decorate for Christmas past the first week of December.”
Josie Cunningham:
“I start decorating the first day of December, I think you have to at least have some decorations for Thanksgiving, to tis the season and then you can decorate for Christmas. It is too late to decorate after the first week of December like “Come on you get a one-week minimum.”
Dany Waters:
“We normally go get a Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. It’s been our family since I was little, and then we slowly get out the rest of our decorations and put everything else up. I think it is too early to decorate for Christmas in October because my birthday is in late October so it would conflict, and I think it is too late to decorate for Christmas during the middle of December because by that point the presents are already under the tree, and Christmas should be celebrated.”
Tavis Kjer:
“The Christmas spirit starts November 1st but the Christmas decorating starts the day after Thanksgiving. Picture Santa’s workshop, that is what our house looks like. We have seven different themed Christmas trees in our house. I think it is too early to decorate before November and it is too late to decorate in December.”
Quincy Collins:
“I start decorating for Christmas in the middle of November, we cut down our Christmas tree during the first week of December, and we host a wreath-making party so we can hang them up on the door. We hang our stockings above the hearth and decorate the porch. In my opinion, too early is the first week after Halloween, and too late is the first week of December.”
Vladislav Volkov:
“I start decorating right after Halloween, we always buy a tree that is too big for our house. We decorate our tree with old ornaments that we have had for a long time. It is too early to decorate anytime before Halloween and it is too late to decorate for Christmas the day of Christmas.”
