Malea Melendrez, Feature Section Editor & Business Manager
Malea is a Senior at Arcata High School who is a second-year returning Pepperbox staff member. Ever since she came to this school years ago-prior to joining the team Malea had read every single issue of The Pepperbox cover to cover waiting and dreaming for her chance to be a part of this journalism process. Last year upon joining the team she learned what it meant to be a part of this process. From navigating interviews to being the original news anchor on Arcata High School’s first-ever morning bulletin announcement videos, Rise and Shine, Malea loved becoming proficient in discovering the ins and outs of Pepperbox production. She loved it so much that she’s back again for her second year as our Feature Editor and Co-Business Manager for the paper. In her free time, Malea enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, stargazing, doing archery, swimming in the cold ocean, dancing, going on adventures with her friends, and having movie nights with her mom.
