64 teams. 4 weeks. 1 winner. March Madness is the annual NCAA tournament between the top 16 teams across 4 different regions. This tournament is the most watched and televised college event in the country. Starting on March 19th, 2025 until the final game on April 6th, 2025. With each game on the line, every team has to play it like it’s their last. Many upsets will change the bracket each round, getting closer and closer to the final championship game. Turn in your bracket by WEDNESDAY 3/26/25 to room 104, the most accurate bracket will win a Dutch Bros gift card. If there’s a tie, a drawing will decide the winner. Make sure you turn in the bracket and not the whole newspaper! Once the tournament is over the winner will be announced. Who will be your #1 in the NCAA?

Mayleah Jackson is a Senior at Arcata High School. It is her first year participating in the Pepperbox and is very excited to be a part of a great community. She participates in many sports like basketball, track and field, and cheer she has played her whole life. With her knowledge, she specializes in sports articles. In the school community, she is very involved and attends almost every event to show up for everyone! With being ASB Treasure she’s able to communicate between leadership and the Pepperbox of events that should be covered and promoted. Former teacher Ms. Witten got her interested in the Pepperbox her Junior year and encouraged her to take it her Senior year! Mayleah is really excited to be a part of the Pepperbox community!!
