What did your Christmas look like?
Xiomara Paz Dominguez, 9th grade – “We had multi-colored lights on the tree and around the house. We never decorated the front yard. The tree would have different colored ornaments and we put stockings on the wall. I remember how fun it was many years ago painting stockings with my sister.”
Sky Marney, 9th grade – “I love the classic colors of winter, warm reds and deep greens, frosty blue and silver icicles. Waking up in my bed on Christmas morning with a fresh blanket of snow outside my window (in Colorado). The cozy colors of Christmas feel so comforting and bring back warm and happy memories.
Evelyn Strand 10th grade- “I don’t like colorful lights on the trees, but other than that, I like colors. It looked very warm with yellowish lights, no crazy decorations. We had an elf on the shelf that was a teddy bear.”
Which do you prefer?
Lila Hatton 10th grade – “I like colorful Christmas more because I think it is more welcoming and warm. White Christmas feels impersonal and cold to me. White lights, ornaments, playing music together (specifically Grateful Dead songs), a big party, colorful decorations, and] bonfires.”
Magnolia Kelley 10th grade – “I prefer a white Christmas. I feel like it is more simplistic and easier to appreciate things when they’re not so overwhelming. This is a tradition that I hope to continue in the future.”
Syriah George 11th grade- “Why be plain when you can be colorful. It’s like a rainbow landed on your house.”
