Music is the way to people’s hearts. Valentine’s Day highlights serenades and passionate music as a way to show their partners how they feel. Walking around campus, students shared with us some of their favorite love songs.
Senior Tavis Kjer shared his new favorite love song “Die with a Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. If you haven’t heard this new hit, it is a super passionate love song talking about being together forever. This song is a way to people’s hearts because it expresses the true meaning of having a relationship with your loved one on a deeper level, talking about how relationships can last forever if they are meant to be.
Senior Mayleah Jackson said her favorite love song is “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. This song retells the love story of Romeo and Juliet but with a happy ending. This song focuses on the excitement and passion of young love, and to always think of a happy ending even with obstacles along the way.
Culinary teacher, Neil Kalson was kind enough to share his favorite love song as well which is “Right Down the Line” by Gerry Rafferty. This song expresses deep appreciation and love for someone who has always been supportive throughout their relationship. Playing this song could be a way to someone’s heart because it shows the importance of being there for each other no matter what, especially with people who value loyalty in their relationship.
Finally, senior Jackson Strand said that his favorite love song is “Fly Me To The Moon” by Frank Sinatra. This is a classic love song, which shows the singer’s desire to be with their loved ones and experience the universe together. This song truly could reach people’s hearts with its timeless melody, romantic lyrics, and dreamy and enchanting imagery in the lyrics.
