Tiger Chariot’s legacy continues on. For this issue’s Chariot representing the Nissan love, we have junior Marley Sanchez and his 2011 Nissan 370Z. This car is guaranteed to turn your head due to its sick rumble and attracting two seater internal. His Z is known for its 3.7 liter V6 with a substantial 332 to 350 stock horsepower, an automatic 7-speed transmission with paddles, and is sitting on big ol’ 18” wheels.
“It has paddles. I mean that’s pretty cool. It makes it fun to drive and it sounds really cool downshifting,” Sanchez recalls the paddles being one of the most gratifying parts of his car other than the fact it’s an astounding ride. All levels of the 370Z receive standard paddle shifters. Originally from Monterey, CA. He has had his Z since sophomore year. The way that you get your hands on any car is always a story to tell, his story begins with something sweet from his dad.
“It was actually a surprise,” Sanchez said. “My dad got it for me, so I never got to meet the original owner of the car. But I came home from school one day and it was kind of parked outside sitting pretty. It wasn’t a special day or occasion. It was really random but exciting.” Not many people can say that their dream car was just parked on their driveway on one random school day. And it would catch any person by surprise.
“It was my first, dream car,” Sanchez exclaimed. “But my end goal, there’s so many. I’d probably go for a LaFerrari, the first hybrid with 963 constant velocity.” It would be any kid’s dream to drive a LaFerrari considering only 499 were manufactured according to the official Ferrari automotive site. Whether people realize it or not, a car that is driven daily is bound to be filled with memories that will last a guaranteed lifetime.
“My favorite memory with the car, there’s definitely a couple,” Sanchez said. “ The first time I ever drove it, it was an unreal dream, the first car I was able to call mine, a feeling that is unmatched.”. Sanchez recalls that the future mods are in the works and that he plans to put in place performance modifications first, and then focus on the cosmetics after. You see Sanchez’s Z and know exactly who’s behind the wheel and what he does what you to know is, “Expect future mods. Mods coming soon.”
