The annual Arcata High Holiday artisan faire brings local student artists, crafters, and makers together to showcase their incredible seasonal creations around the holidays.
The holiday Artisan Faire took place on December 6th at Arcata High, in the fine arts building from 5-8 pm. The artisan faire was made possible by the students of AAI, the tech education department, which includes makers, woodshop, and AAI, and all of the student artisans and crafters at Arcata High. Along with the students, the staff of the language department were selling mole, crepes, and hot chocolate.
Senior and second-year AAI student Solana Mendle-Nickle stated, “The artisan faire was a wonderful opportunity for all of the students to show off their talents and hard work this year, it was so cool seeing all of the different things people had designed and created.” Mendle-Nickle was selling handmade jewelry, but there were many more seasonal creations for sale. Visitors were able to explore a wide collection of unique handmade creations ranging from intricate jewelry to wreaths and other wonderful holiday goods. Each booth told a beautiful story reflecting the skill and passion for crafting behind each local artisan’s work.
The 5th annual Holiday Artisan Faire was a successful event thanks to the AAI staff and students who organized it.
