Many teenagers recall playing Roblox when they were in elementary or middle school, but with the rise of its fashion game, “Dress to Impress,” Roblox is creeping its way back into Gen-Z’s culture.
Many people remember playing the original version of the game called “Fashion Famous” which was subsequently replaced by “Dress to Impress”. The original game was played with the original Roblox block characters, but the new version replaces those with more dynamic characters and introduces poses that go along with the outfits.
“Pose 28 is overrated but it’s funny,” player @celcelsight said. [seen in image above]
For those who haven’t played, the game is simple. You run around the room collecting items of clothing to wear, following a theme. Then, other users in the game will rank you following the 5-star scale. Although the goal is to stay on-theme and on-time, consistent players have other tips.
“Go against the grain basically,” player @hollabackgirl1738 said. This technique consists of dressing however you like– even if it doesn’t follow themes like “Rave” or “Regency Ball”.
Use of the in-game chat is also necessary for players to get a victory. Players use popular slang to gain points from other players in the game.
“In order to win you have to say in the chat ‘slayyy, you ate’,” player @celcelsight said. This incorporation of slang is what helps you to up your rank and keep the “Dress to Impress” community strong.
There may be more players walking around campus than you think. While some kids play at school, many report playing as soon as they get home.
“I play it when I get home after I finish my homework, late at night,” player @funnygirlthekittycat said.
Now that you’ve heard from Arcata High’s “best dressed” go hit your pose 28’s after school.
