Ranked the nation’s top party school for the third consecutive year.
UC Santa Barbara
People widely celebrate UC Santa Barbara for its academic excellence and oceanfront views. Ranked the number one party school in America, it’s no surprise Arcata High students plan on going there in the fall.
Senior Mason Myers announced his plans with pride, “After four years of pretending to care about homework, I’m ready to pursue partying full-time.”
Maile Russell agreed, “I don’t care to keep my 4.0 GPA anymore, I think I would rather spend my time studying new ‘BORG,’ (black out rage gallon), names.”
When asked about their academic goals, both students laughed, hoping that their attendance wouldn’t count for their credits.
University of Alabama
The University of Alabama is notorious for its football games, frat parties, and its unique effect on students, referred to as being “bamafied.” This process is both a physical and psychological shift. When this occurs, students shift from being “normal” to being extremely tan with platinum blonde hair, develop a newfound passion for posting their game day outfits on TikTok, and essentially become more of a “baddie.” Bryson Meyer, who’s going to the University of Alabama, is nervous because his TikTok For You page has recently been filled with Bama rush content.
Meyer said, “I’m not so sure I want to be bamafied, but if the frat parties are as life-changing as they say, I guess I will just see what happens.”
San Diego State University
Another top choice for Arcata High seniors looking to escape the redwoods makes San Diego State the perfect escape plan. A prestigious school known for its close beaches, party credentials, and optional education.
“I wasn’t looking for a place with good academics,” Senior Luella Rich stated, “I was looking for a new lifestyle. When I found out that SDSU was ranked the third largest party school in California, I knew that’s where I wanted to go.”
Senior Camden Narwold is already way ahead of schedule. “I already have four ragers planned out, and I haven’t even enrolled in my classes yet,” he said. “I’ll pick a major later, that’s the least of my worries. I just hope I’m far enough away that my parents won’t show up unannounced.”
CSU Chico
Chico State, the legendary college once named America’s top party school, continues to attract Arcata High graduates. Being only a four-hour drive from home but miles away from adult supervision is what makes it the ideal destination for students who want to continue living life to the fullest while in college.
Senior Jadalyn Weber explained her decision to go here with lots of confidence. “I’ve never missed a party here, so why stop now? I need the parties to survive. I wouldn’t know what to do if I just sat at home all day, I’d probably go insane.”
Senior Charlotte Brands, on the other hand, is a little scared of the party people. “I’m going to Chico, but I mostly planned on staying in my dorm except for class,” she said. “Maybe one day I’ll attend a rager or even throw my own, but who knows?”
Arizona State University
Arizona State University, once ranked the number one party school in the nation, has now dropped to 62nd in the national rankings. Rumor has it that the president of ASU has secretly been paying off local cops to shut down the legendary parties.
Senior Myla Conley said, “I love Arizona, and I’m super excited to go there in general; the functions are just a huge plus.”
These rumors have made ASU students begin shifting from frat parties to “dartying,” which is day partying and drinking. Normally, many BORGs are present during these occasions. Although the school is no longer number one, it still has a massive party spirit.
