Arcata High beat Red Bluff 81-59 in the first wave of Arcata Invitational Basketball Tournament games. Red Bluff started out strong, leading 18-15 in the first quarter but faltered as the Tigers found their rhythm. In the second quarter, Mason Railsback brought Arcata ahead after making two free throws. Arcata showed incredible teamwork, knowing exactly when to pass and when to shoot. By the end of the half, they were winning by 11 points, 38-27. By the third quarter the gap widened to 17 points. Try as they might, Red Bluff could not catch Arcata. After some epic shots by Garret Hall, Brandon Bento-Jackson and Railsback, Arcata finished strong with a 22 point lead. The top scorer for Arcata was Hall, closely followed by Railsback. Arcata’s next game is 8:00 PM on Friday.
